Biographie
Thomas Schüle, born in 1958, finished his studies of Musicology in the year 1986 at the University of Tübingen/Germany with the Master of Arts Diploma. He studied choral and orchestral conducting with Prof. Dr. Alexander Sumski. He then completed a certificate in music management by the German Chamber of Commerce (IHK) with distinction. In 2011 he attended advanced training with the "Godfather of Music Management" Mr. Fritz Rau (1930-2013).
He was member of the music council of the Provincial Government of Baden-Württemberg in 1986 and then 1990 became manager of trumpet virtuoso Ludwig Güttler in Dresden. From 1986 until 1990 he was Organizer of the "German-French Chamber Orchestra" and Organizer and Singer of "Studio Vocale Karlsruhe" choir and he travelled around the world to many festivals and competitions. In 1990 he founded the "International Competition for Vocal Ensembles" in Korntal/Stuttgart.
From 1993 until 1999 he was called to become the Vice Sales Director of the State Theatre and Opera House in Stuttgart. At the same time he produced several sound recordings among others with the State Orchestra Stuttgart and he sang with the Opera Chorus in hundreds of performances. In 1995 he founded the "International Choir Festival of Sacred Music" in Rottenburg a.N.
In 2003 he was the head of Organization of an Open-Air-Concert with Sir Elton John in Darmstadt/Germany. At the same time he was Organizer of "Konzertchor Darmstadt" choir and of the festival "Darmstädter Residenzfestspiele".
From 1999 to 2019 he was a Director of INTERKULTUR and served at dozens of festivals worldwide among them all eleven WORLD CHOIR GAMES presented in Austria, Korea, Germany, China, USA, Latvia, Russia, South Africa and Belgium. He was founder of INTERKULTUR festivals in Korea, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, the USA, Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan and in the Philippines. Media characterized him to be "a moving force and veteran core organizer of many of the world´s foremost choir festivals and competitions".
Thomas Schüle was member of the Jury at National and International choir competitions in Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and in the Philippines. He was lecturer for Arts Management at the German University of Heilbronn and is guest lecturer at different Universities. He is member of the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM), member of the Asian Choral Association (ACA), co-founder 2004 of the Philippine Choral Director´s Association (PCDA), member of the Choral Directors´Association Singapore (CDAS), a registered Mentor at American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and member of the Advisory Board of CHORALSPACE, International Academy for Choral Arts.
In 2019 he opened an office in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines. The "INTERKULTUR Center for Culture & Tourism Development" promotes the worldwide events of INTERKULTUR Germany and gives advice and support to choirs of the Asia Pacific region.
2020 Thomas Schüle was appointed Professor of Music Management at the Liceo de Cagayan University, Conservatory of Music, Theatre and Dance in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines.
